A murder case witness was mortally wounded after he was attacked while going to court in Gurudaspur of Natore on Thursday morning, UNB reports.
The assailants cut off day labourer Jalal Uddin’s left hand, leaving him critically injured at Jogendrabazar around 8am.
Jalal’s relatives took him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital before police had a chance to visit the spot, said Gurudaspur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mojaharul Islam.
“Doctors pronounced him dead around 12:30pm,” Hasinur, the victim’s son, told UNB over phone.
Jalal was the main witness of a 2013 murder case.
