BSF ‘picks up’ 2 Bangladeshi fishermen from Rajshahi border

Two Bangladeshi fishermen were reportedly picked up by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) from Farhadpur Nirmalchar in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi on Thursday.
The victims were identified as Abdur Rahim, 55, son of Abu Bakar and Omar Ali, 32, son of Mosharraf Hossain of Premtoli Kathalbaria village in the upazila.
Nayan Ali, member of Ward No 1 of Matikata Union Parishad, said the BSF men from Tikna Char camp picked them up forcibly while returning home from the Padma River through Nirmalchar area in the afternoon.
Contacted, commanding officer of BGB-1 Battalion, Lt Col Ferdous Ziauddin Mahmud, said they are trying to contact the BSF.
