6 Jana Sanghati Samity men killed in Bandarban ‘gunfight’

At least six people were killed and three others injured in a reported gunfight between two groups of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity in Sadar upazila of Bandarban district on Tuesday morning.
Contacted, Bandarban police superintendent Jerin Akter confirmed the incident, saying that the gunfight between two factions of JSS took place around 6:00 am at Baghmara Bazar area.
The deceased were identified as Prajit Chakma, 65, David Marma, 45, Joy Tripura, 40, Dipen Tripura, 42, Ratan Tanchangya, 55 and Bimal Kanti Chakma alias Bidhu Babu, 60. All of them were the members of Jana Samhati Samiti (MN Larma) group.
Three injured are: Nihar Chakma, Bidyut Chakma and Hlaoising.
Of them, Nihar Chakma and Bidyut Chakma are undergoing treatment at Bandarban Sadar Hospital, said its physicians.
