Two ‘robbers’ beaten dead by mob in B’baria

Two suspected robbers were beaten to death at Leshiara village in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria district early Tuesday.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Sub-inspector of Kasba Police Station Majibar Rahman said a gang of robbers stormed the house of Jamir Miah at the village at about 2:00 am.

The bandits looted valuables after taking the house inmates hostage at gunpoint.

Hearing hue and cry, locals rushed in and caught the duo. But other hoodlums managed to flee.

Later, local people severely beat up them, leaving them dead on the spot.

Being informed, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

The law enforcers also recovered the looted valuables.
