Two siblings killed in Khagrachhari fresh landslide

Two siblings were killed in a fresh landslide triggered by heavy downpour in Budungpara of Ramgar upazila in Khagrachhari district on Sunday, reports UNB.

The identities of the latest two, aged around 10 years and 8 years, landslide victims could not be known immediately.

An incessant rainfall that lasted for about an hour in Budungpara caused the landslide at 5:00 am, killing the duo on the spot, said Ramgar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Al Mamun Mia, quoting locals and witnesses.

With the fresh landslide, a total of four people died so far due to hillslides in the district since last Tuesday's massive landslide.

Previously, 114 people, including five army men, were killed in Rangamati, which was hit hardest by the hillslides, while 34 in Chittagong, six in Bandarban, two each in Cox's Bazar and Khagrachhari, raising the total death toll to 158.
