2nd Test: Proteas 126/0 at lunch against Tigers

South Africa collected 126 runs in the 1st session of the 1st day’s play without losing a wicket as Bangladeshi bowlers hardly generate lethal deliveries to put the Proteas openers in jeopardy in the 1st innings of the 2nd Test of their two-match Test series at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein on Friday, UNB reports.

Sent in to bat first, South Africa played 29 overs with their unbeaten opening pair contribution where Dean Elgar and Aiden Markram at the crease hammering a half century each.

Dean Elgar featured 13 boundaries off 88 balls for 72* while Aiden Markram, who hit 97 runs at Potchefstroom Test on his debut against Bangladesh, completed his 2nd half century with 54* off 86 balls, including eight boundaries.

Mustafizur Rahman, Subashis Roy, Rubel Hossain, Soumya Sarkar and Taijul Islam shared all the 29-over for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh best XI: Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim (captain), Mahmudullah Riyad, Sabbir Rahman, Liton Kumar Das (wk), Taijul Islam, Rubel Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman and Subashis Roy.

South Africa best XI: Dean Elgar, Aiden Markram, Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma, Faf du Plessis (captain), Quinton de Kock (wk), Andile Phehlukwayo, Wayne Parnell, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada and Duanne Olivier.
