2 NGO workers killed in road crashes

Two NGO workers, including a woman, were killed and another was injured in separate road crashes in Faridpur and Thakurgaon districts on Saturday morning.

In Faridpur, field officer of FDA Rikta Aktar, 32, also a resident of Sadipur area of the town, died and another sustained injuries as a truck hit their motorbike near Tepakhola Bridge of the town in the morning.

Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station Nizam Uddin said the truck hit the motorbike around 8:15 am, leaving two women injured.

Rikta was declared dead when she was taken to Faridpur General Hospital, he said.

Meanwhile, in Thakurgaon, a field officer of Eco Social Development Organization (ESDO) was killed as a speedy truck hit his motorbike around 8 am.

The diseased was identified as Jahangir Alam, 40, son of Abdur Rahim of Chowdhuripara village in Haripur upazila.
