6 killed as bus rams auto-rickshaw in M’singh

Six people were killed as a bus crashed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Kakni of Tarakanda upazila in Mymensingh on Friday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Sona Miah, 35, hailing from Phulpur upazila, Ayub Ali, 55, Abdul Karim, 35, Salim Uddin, 19, Nazim Uddin, 40, and Nazim Uddin, 19, residents of Nagla area of Haluaghat upazila.

Mazharul Haque, officer-in-charge of Tarakanda Police Station, said the Haluaghat-bound ‘Imam Paribaha’ bus rammed the Mymensingh-bound three-wheeler on Mymensingh-Haluaghat road around 3pm, leaving five passengers dead on the spot and another injured.

The injured died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

All the victims were the inmates of the auto-rickshaw, including its driver.
