6 killed in separate road accidents

Six people, including a woman were killed and 25 others were injured in two road accidents in Sirajganj and Nilphamari districts.

In Sirajganj, four people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a covered van in Saidabad area of the sadar upazila, reports UNB.

A Gaibandha-bound 'Shyamali Paribahan bus' collided with a covered van on Banghabandhu Bridge West road, leaving three people dead on the spot and 24 others injured, said Banghabandhu Bridge West police station officer-in-charge Syed Shaheed Alam.

The injured were rushed to Sirajganj 250-bed hospital where one of the injured died.

The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.

In Nilphamari, two people were killed and two others injured after a bus hit an auto-rickshaw in Dhoyera bus stand area of Jaldhaka upazila.

Deceased Rahim, 32, and Alam, 35 were passengers of the auto-rickshaw, said Jaldhaka police station officer-in-charge Sohrab Hossain.

The accident took place around 3:00am when a ‘Josheda Paribahan’ bus dashed the auto-rickshaw, leaving the two dead on the spot and two others injured, he said.
