Bangladesh lost the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan 0-2 as they conceded a six-wicket defeat in the 2nd match at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun, India on Tuesday, UNB reports.

Afghanistan won the 1st match by 45 runs on Sunday before the day’s successful chase of 135 runs for 135 for 4 in 18.5 overs where experienced all-rounder Mohammad Nabi hit two boundaries and two over boundaries in the match’s last five balls off Rubel Hossain to shore the win.

Nabi’s unbeaten innings saw 31 off 15 balls, including three boundaries and two sixes, after number-three batsman Samiullah Shenwari’s 49 off 41 balls, including two boundaries and three sixes, before being bowled out by Mosaddek Hossain on 115/4 in 18th over.

The two other Afghans batters Mohammad Shahzad [24 off 18b; 4x4; 1x6] and Usman Ghani[21 off 31b; 1x4] shared a partnership of 38 off 5.4 overs in the opening stand before left-handed pacer Abu Hider got Shahzad by lbw.

Mosaddek Hossain(2/21), Abu Hider[1/14] and Rubel Hossain [1/38] shared four wickets for Bangladesh.

Batting first after winning the toss, the Tigers posted 134 for 8 in 20 overs for spurred with Tamim Iqbal’s 43 off 48 balls, including five boundaries, and the 3rd wicket stand of 45 off 5.2 overs between Tamim and Mushfiqur Rahim.

Tamim and Mushfiq [22 off 18b; 1x4; 1x6] started after the dismissal of Sabbir Rahman [13 off 9b; 3x4] from 30/2 in 4.3 overs and ended their partnership on 75/3 in 9.5 overs as Mushfiq was stumped by keeper Mohammad Shahzad off Mohammad Nabi.

After Mushfiq, Bangladesh lost their wickets in a gradual interval until Abu Hider [21* off 14b; 1x4; 2x6] played unbeaten innings and shared 26* off 13 balls with Nazmul Islam [6* off 3b; 1x6] in the unbeaten 9th wicket stand.

Mahmudulla Riyad [14 off 8b; 1x4; 1x6], bowled out by Karim Janat on 93/4 in 17th over, was another notable scorer for the side.

Tamim was bowled out by b Rashid Khan on 103/6 in 15.4 overs.

Man of the match Rashid Khan (4/12), Mohammad Nabi (2/19), Karim Janat (1/40) and Shapoor Zadran (1/42) shared eight wickets.

Both sides will play the last game at the same venue on Thursday.
