17 July 2018,Tuesday, 22:03

BNP on Tuesday alleged that ruling party men carried out a crude bomb attack on a rally of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) in Rajshahi to spread panic for holding ‘voter-less’ city polls there.

“The miscreants belonging to Awami League exploded crude bombs at Chhatra Dal’s electioneering programme. We think the main motive behind the attack is to create a scary situation for holding a voter-less election,” said party senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, reports UNB.

He strongly protested and condemned the attack and demanded the government immediately arrest those involved in the attack and mete out exemplary punishment to them.

The BNP leader said their party chairperson’s adviser Habibur Rahman Habaib, BNP activist Swapan Karmaker, Private TV channel Bangla Vision’s Bureau Chief Paritosh Chowdhury Aditya and some other people were injured in the attack.

Several masked miscreants riding two motorcycles hurled three crude bombs at the JCD rally in favour BNP mayoral candidate Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul at Sagarpara in Rajshahi city, leaving five people injured.
