Around 200 teachers and students of the university under the banner of “Government and Politics Department Family” formed a human-chain in front of the Amar Ekushey of the campus around 11:00 am.

Addressing the rally, Prof KM Mohiuddin of Government and Politics Department said “This is very sad for us that the students of our university are threatening to rape other female students”.

He demanded immediate punishment of the BCL men who gave the threat over social media.

On Sunday, a female organiser of quota reform movement of the university filed a ‘sexual harassment allegation’ with proctor’s office in this regard.

JU Proctor Sikder Zulkarnain said “We handed over the allegation to the university’s “Anti-sexual harassment cell” and they will probe into the matter.
