BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir filed a general diary with Paltan Police Station on Thursday seeking action against those opened fake Facebook accounts in his name.
Talking to UNB, Fakhrul’s personal secretary Yunus Ali said the BNP secretary general lodged the GD in the afternoon.
In the GD, he said, the BNP secretary general said though he did not open any account on the Facebook, there are many fake accounts available in his name.
He urged the law enforcers to take necessary action to stop these fake Facebook accounts, and take legal action against those involved in such malpractice.
Earlier in the day, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at a press conference said several fake Facebook accounts have been opened in Fakhrul’s name and those are being used to circulate various comments and opinions.
On several occasions, the party also issued statements saying Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir never opened any Facebook account.
