The five female students of Ruqayyah Hall, who are on hunger strike over 4-point demand including re-election to hall unions, said they are feeling insecure, alleging that they were teased by activists of ruling party’s front Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) early today.

Striking girls said activists of Chhatra League numbering around 200 arrived at the hall gates on motorbikes around 2:00am and hurled comments on them.

“They threatened we will be permanently expelled from the university,” said Promi Khisha, a participant of the strike.

Another participant, Shrobona Shafiq Dipty, said many BCL activists openly jeered at us at that time in presence of newly elected general secretary of Ducsu Golam Rabbani, who led the activists of the organization.

“Since night’s incident, we are feeling very insecure on the campus,” she said, adding that many front liners of them have already been marked and being harassed.
