Export through Akhaura land port remains suspended

Export through Akhaura land port remained halted since Saturday morning as Agartala land port officials are unable to handle the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) installed by Indian Customs Authority.

Mobarak Hossain, president of Akhaura C&F Agents Association, said Agartala customs and port authority stopped the import of goods from Bangladesh as nobody could handle EDI machine at Agartala port in India.

Over 30 trucks carrying goods worth Tk 4 crore remained stuck at the port, he added.
