Expressing sorrow for the suffering faced by Eid holidaymakers on the highways amid gridlocks, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said the situation will improve by this afternoon.
"As a minister, I cannot shirk the responsibility for people's sufferings," the United News of Bangladesh quoted the minister as saying while talking to reporters at Sayedabad bus terminal on Sunday morning.
The minister, however, claimed that there was congestion only on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway, not on all highways.
He also said instant actions are being taken whenever any irregularity is found on any road.
