England elected to bat first after winning the toss -

England won the toss and elected to bat first against India at Birmingham on Sunday.

Before this game, India played six matches and came up victorious in five matches with the other match was washed out due to rain. Virat Kohli-led India are the only team in the World Cup who are yet to endure a loss.

England, on the other hand, played seven matches and won four them with tasting three losses. They came to this match being at number five in on the points table. They lost two of their last four matches.

Another loss today will make England’s route to the semifinals more compressed. On the other hand, a win will secure India’s place in the top four of the tournament.

However, if England lose today, they will have another chance to secure a semifinals berth in their last league stage game against New Zealand on July 3.
