2 hacked dead by muggers in Nawabganj

Several unidentified muggers hacked two people to death at Majhikanda in Nawabganj upazila of Dhaka early Friday.
The deceased were identified as Zahid, 40 and his friend Kamal, 50 of the area.
Officer-in-charge of Nawabganj Police Station, Mostafa Kamal, said a group of muggers intercepted a motorbike carrying Zahid and Kamal by placing banana tree on the road around 11:30 pm on Thursday.
Later, the muggers snatched their valuables and stabbed them with sharp weapons, leaving them critically injured.
The injured were taken to Nawabganj upazila health complex where doctors declared Kalam dead. As Zahid's condition was deteriorating fast, he was transferred to Mitford Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital around 3 am.
A case was filed with Nawabganj Police Station.
