Sahara Khatun flies to Thailand for treatment

Bangladesh ruling Awami League (AL) party presidium member and former home minister Advocate Sahara Khatun left Dhaka for Thailand today [Monday] for better treatment.

An aircraft carrying her departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) around 1:15pm. Her personal secretary Advocate Anisur Rahman is accompanying the AL leader, state-run Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha news agency report said.

The 72-year lawmaker of Dhaka-18 constituency was released from city's United Hospital around 11:20 this morning.

On June 2, she had been admitted to United Hospital in city's Gulshan area with allergy, fever and cold-related complications. Later she was shifted to the ICU on June 19 as her condition deteriorated.

Her former personal assistant and relative Majibur Rahman told that the ruling party leader is likely to be admitted to the Bumrungrad International Hospital in Thailand.

Her physical condition remains stable, he said.
