Natore DC, Civil Surgeon among 30 infected with coronavirus

Thirty people, including the Deputy Commissioner and Civil Surgeon of Natore, have been found infected with coronavirus.

According to sources at the Civil Surgeon's office, Civil Surgeon Dr Kazi Mizanur Rahman and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shah Riaz was tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday, UNB reports.

Besides, additional superintendent of (Sadar Circle) Police Abul Hasnat and four members of his family, including his wife and two children, were diagnosed with the highly contagious virus.

Meanwhile, the death toll from coronavirus stood at 3,000 in Bangladesh with the death of 35 more people on Tuesday.

Besides, health authorities confirmed the detection of 2,960 new cases, taking the number of confirmed cases to 2,29,185.

The country reported its first coronavirus cases on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
