England posted a huge total of 337/7 against India at Edgbaston on Sunday, reports NDTV.
After opting to bat, England openers Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy gave England a terrific start.
They stitched together a 160-run stand for the first wicket. Jonny Bairstow put his spat with Michael Vaughan behind him to score a hundred that left England well-placed in their key World Cup match against India.
The dynamic opener made 111, his eighth one-day international century, in a match England had to win to keep semi-final qualification in their own hands.
This was the highest first-wicket partnership of the tournament.
For India, Mohammed Shami was exceptional with the ball, bagging his maiden five-wicket haul in ODIs while Jasprit Bumrah put in another fine performance to keep England under 350.
India need 338 runs to stay unbeaten in the tournament.
