Newly appointed Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, on Monday made a courtesy call to the editor of the Daily Nayadiganta, Alomgir Mohiuddin.

As part of regular interaction with diplomats, official dignitaries, media persons and other important persons, Siddiqui made the visit to the daily Nayadiganta office.

He presented his credentials to the President of Bangladesh, Abdul Hamid, on February 19 this year though he came to Dhaka early January after his appointment as the high commissioner to Bangladesh.

“No bilateral relations even between two closest countries are out of challenge and so there are some challenges between the ties of the two South Asian Muslim countries,” he said.

He added that potentiality of relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan is stronger than challenges. “Through dialogue and mutual understanding the both states can be benefitted”.

The high commissioner also put emphasis on bolstering mutual trade between the two countries and he urged the business entrepreneurs of both states to come forward and hold dialogue on trade and business.

Referring to Islamic philosophy of unity among all Muslims as a single body, Siddiqui opined that the two big Muslim countries in the south Asian – Bangladesh and Pakistan – have a huge scope to work together for the greater interest of Muslims as well as all humanity worldwide.

Acting editor of the Nayadiganta Salah Uddin Babar, deputy editor Masumur Rahman Khalili, assistant editor Mustahid Faruki, city editor Abu Saleh Akan, chief reporter Harun Jamil, online editor Hasan Sharif; literature editor Jakir Abu Jafar and press counselor of Pakistan high commission Muhammad Aurangzeb Haral were also present among others.
