Coronavirus: Bangladesh confirms 9th death; detects 18 new patients

Another person died from coronavirus and 18 more people tested positive for the virus during the last 24 hours, said Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Sunday.

“Death toll from the virus infection is now nine. Eighteen more people were tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24hours, raising the new cases to 88,” he said in an online briefing, reports UNB.

The global death toll from novel coronavirus (COVID-19) reached 64,716 as of Sunday.

The virus, first reported in China, has so far infected 1,201,933 people around the world, according to worldometer.

Of the infected, 890,583 are currently being treated while 42,290 of them are in serious or critical condition.

So far, 246,634 of those infected have recovered.
