Light to moderate rain, thundershowers likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Monday predicted rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 6 pm.

“Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Rangpur, Rajshahi & Mymensingh divisions” said a met office bulletin.

Moderately heavy to heavy falls may occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, it added.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said the bulletin, adding that monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.

The axis of monsoon is running through Rajsthan, Panjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.

The highest temperature was recorded today 34.8 degrees Celsius at Jashore and minimum temperature 22.9 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Panchagarh.

The sun set at 6:43 pm on Wednesday and will rise at 5:27 am on Thursday in Dhaka.
