No new cases detected in Bangladesh in last 24hrs: IEDCR

No new cases of the novel coronavirus have been detected in the last 24 hours in Bangladesh, keeping the total infected tally 48 for the last two days.

"In the last 24 hours we have tested samples of 109 people and found none infected by the virus," Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora, director of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) said at a online a press briefing Sunday noon.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Zahid Maleque joining the online briefing from his office claimed that country has now 45,000 testing kits for coronavirus.

Besides, other preparations have also been taken, the minister added.

"Since January this year when the COVID-19 just started spreading, we have been preaparing ourselves to face the outbreak without any advice from any experts," Maleque claimed.
